Vigan City Fiesta Celebration

     Celebrating festivals in every town had been a tradition to Filipino culture. And one of the most popular festival is the Vigan City Town Fiesta celebrated during January 25 every year.

     Vigan City Town Fiesta is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of Saint Paul, Vigan City's patron saint and the town's main church; the Metropolitan Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle and it stands at the core of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. The Vigan City Town Fiesta usually lasts for several days starting from January 22 wherein Longganisa Festival is celebrated; the festival consists of a Longganisa-themed parade and other events. The Vigan City Town fiesta lasts until the celebration of the anniversary of the cityhood of Vigan celebrated every January 27.
 
     The celebration is composed of arts and craft exhibits, food fairs, visiting carnivals, parades and street dancing performances prepared by the government with the help of the local industries and communities that celebrates the spirit of Vigan's cityhood.

     This is how Biguenos celebrate the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Vigan City Fiesta, unique in its own simple way.
